Nota d'usoAttenzione a queste due parole, che hanno uguale pronuncia e significati diversi. L'aggettivo discreet significa “discreto” nel senso di “rispettoso, non importuno”: to make a few discreet inquiries, fare poche domande discrete; She was very discreet: she never told me anything about her boss's private life, era molto riservata: non mi disse mai nulla della vita privata di suo capo; significa “discreto” anche nel senso di “che non disturba, non vistoso”: discreet jewellery, gioielli discreti; a discreet notice in the window, un bigliettino alla finestra.
